Cancellation and Refund Policies

Cancellation Policy

 

We understand that for any reason, your plans may change and you may not be able to attend a class or workshop. Cancellations must be in writing via email to friends@centerfordigitalarts.com. Cancellations made 14 days or greater are eligible for a refund minus a 25% administrative fee*. Any cancellation requests made less than 14 days before the class or workshop are only eligible for credit for a future class. Any cancellations less than 72 hours before the class are not eligible for a refund or credit.

In lieu of a refund, students have the option of receiving credit toward the purchase of another class or workshop. If a student elects to receive a credit, a voucher will be good for one year from date of issue. Students are encouraged to keep credit vouchers on file for future reference. To redeem credits issued as vouchers, please contact the Center for Digital Arts at friends@centerfordigitalarts.com or call 714-529-3686. No administrative fee will be charged for students electing to receive credit.

Third party purchases, such as Groupon or Course Horse are not eligible for refunds.

*Note: Travel Photography Tours carry different policies. Please refer to  the “Travel Tour Deposit, Payment and Refund Policy” section.

 

Digital Photography Bundle Cancellation Policy (“Foundation Bundle”)

The Bundle package is effective for 6 months from the date of your first class. After 6 months, the Bundle expires and you will need to purchase the remaining classes separately. This ensures that our Bundle students are guaranteed a seat in our classes. We keep our class size limited so that each student gets hands-on instruction. We appreciate your acknowledgement and cooperation. 

We ask that you give us 72 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule a class. We understand emergencies come up and a last minute cancellation is unavoidable so we are happy to offer two courtesies for last minute cancellations (less than 72 hours). After the two courtesies, your opportunity to take the class may be lost, and you may need to pay full fee for the course if you would still like to take it.

We appreciate your consideration in this as we are obligated to our instructors’ time and schedule as well as that of your fellow students. Our classes require a minimum of 4 students to run so we appreciate your timely RSVP.

Credits

 

Credit vouchers have no cash value and may not be redeemed for refunds or cash back.  A student’s decision to receive credit in lieu of a refund is final and may not be changed at a future date.

 

 

Cancellations

 

On occasion, a class or workshop may cancel due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If such a case occurs students will be refunded in full. The California Center for Digital Arts does not take responsibility for non-refundable airline tickets, hotel expenses, or any other costs that may be attributable toward enrolling in a class or workshop.

 

Transfers

 

You may elect to transfer credit to another class or workshop. Transfers are limited to one time per class and are subject to our Refund Policy.

 

Travel Tours Deposit, Payment and Refund Policy

 

Domestic Travel Workshops

 

Domestic travel workshops are any workshops that are longer than 2 nights. Our weekend workshops such as Joshua Tree, Anza Borrego and Salton Sea fall under our regular workshop Refund / Cancellation Policy and are not subject to our Travel Refund Policy.

Domestic travel registrations require a nonrefundable $500 deposit to secure a seat. If you are on a waiting list, you will not be charged a deposit fee until space becomes available for you. Your space in the workshop is not confirmed until your deposit has been received.

Half of the remaining balance is due 180 days (six months) before the start of the workshop. The remaining balance is due 90 days before the start of the workshop.

Cancellations, for any reason, must be submitted to The California Center for Digital Arts in writing via email to info@centerfordigitalarts.com or regular mail. Cancellation requests made 120 days prior to the trip will receive a full refund minus the deposit. Requests made 60 days prior to the trip will receive credit for half of the balance paid minus the deposit and any nonrefundable costs that may have incurred from third parties to reserve your space. The credit may be applied to future workshops and is valid for two years from date of issue. Cancellation requests made less than 30 days from the trip are not subject to refunds or credits.

If we need to cancel a workshop for any unforeseen reason, you will receive a full refund of all payments.

International Travel Tours

 

Our International photography tours require a substantial upfront cost and third party costs and thus the refund policy can be less flexible than our domestic travel workshops. International tours registrations require a nonrefundable $1000 deposit to secure a seat. If you are on a waiting list, you will not be charged a deposit fee until space becomes available for you. Your space in the tour is not confirmed until your deposit has been received.

Half of the remaining balance is due 180 days (six months) before the start of the tour. The remaining balance is due 90 days before the start of the tour.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend for any travel photography tour that you consider getting Travel Insurance to help cover costs should unexpected circumstances arise.
