James Banks became interested in photography 35 years ago and adapted this interest to his primary law enforcement and emergency medical management careers. While assigned to such intense duties as Narcotics, SWAT and Detective work James developed an uncanny sense to create editorial approaches to documenting the work of his law enforcement reams in still images. His success in this area propelled him to forefront of police department annual report photography while still serving his community as a police sergeant and detective. James currently shoots event and editorial photography for “Behind the Badge” an on line public-safety e-zine and owns Bankshot Photography which specializes in in action photography for police and fire department websites. James is a member of the teaching staff at the California Center for the Digital Arts where teaches foundation classes, events and new Sony Camera application class.
