Meet Piper Mackay

Taking the ultimate leap of faith, Piper Mackay left a highly successful fashion career 20 years ago to fully commit to her true passion. For over two decades, she has followed a remarkable path as a photographer, documenting African wildlife and cultural traditions across the continent. Her relentless passion and perseverance carried her through all of challenges, ultimately allowing her to fulfill her dream of living in Kenya—where she became the first woman to establish and run her own ground operations.

She has a distinct style in using natural, dramatic lighting to capture compelling images. Piper passionately believes the magic happens by experiencing extraordinary lives and capturing them at the click of the shutter. She strives to “get it right” in camera to maximize the time she spends out in the field rather than behind a computer. She will share her story, what helped to create her style,  the four most important elements in creating a powerful image and then and now.
